The world is changing after the pandemic. The question on our minds is: Do we want to go back to the way things were?
Or do we want to collectively create a new, better future?
As a social impact organization, Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD) is always looking at what’s going on in the world and how it impacts the Deaf community. The pandemic made it clear that there are social issues that must be addressed, and that change always begins with the self.
We asked five Deaf filmmakers to create a short “computer screen” film, each with a theme around a specific human need. The films were made during the pandemic and they were filmed remotely or socially distanced. For some of the filmmakers, they worked with cast and crew overseas during this production!
We also asked National Deaf Therapy and Melmira to partner with us in expanding this conversation to offer more nuanced views in the journey to self-actualization.
